This structures towers 60 feet and sits on 50 feet and is a perfect combination of three shrines.

Arjuna’s Penance :

Located at the center of Mahabalipuram Arjun’s penance is a huge rock in the canvas unfolding a scene of gods, demigods, birds and beauty itself. It is a magnificently and skillfully carved and is the largest bas relief sculptures in the world. The sculptures were built in the 7th century on a big pink granite measuring 49ft *98ft and is a state of the art.

The Seashell Museum :

If you have the old hobby of collecting seashells then you should definitely visit this amazing museum which has over 40,000 different shells, corals, fossils and is the largest seashell museum in Asia. Apart from the shell display the museum also has a colorful aquarium which gives an amazing view of the life in the ocean.

Lighthouse Heritage Museum :

Open to the public on January 2014, has gained quite the popularity among the tourists because of the coziness inside and the adorable look. It consists the part of the old lighthouse of mahabalipuram. Apart from the equipment displayed the museum also conducts a light and sound show within the museum.
